Mairung Gaon or Mayrong forest village, is a small village of Kalimpong. It is located on the way to Duka Valley, just before Tendrabong. It has an altitude of just above 5000ft. This place is nearly 10km away from Algarah. This offbeat place with lush greenery has recently fallen into travelers’ eyes.

How to reach Mairung Gaon

Mairung Gaon is easily accessible by road. The nearest rail station is New Jalpaiguri and the nearest airport is Bagdogra. The reserved car will take approx 3500 – 4000 INR to reach here. Depending on the season it may vary. If anyone wants to visit here by shared car from NJP, come up to Algarah. From Algarah, the reserved car can be taken to Mairung Gaon at a much lower rate. If coming from Mal bazar side, take the shared car to Lava. From Lava, you can reserve a car to Mairung Gaon
