Tourists have always been fascinated by mountains, and Chibbo or Chibo, a serene hill village in the Himalayas, is no exception. Perched at a height of 4,100 feet, Chibbo offers breathtaking views of Mt. Kanchenjunga, lush forests, and surrounding foothills. Chibbo enjoys pleasant weather year-round and is known for its rich biodiversity. Tucked away in the Himalayan valley, Chibbo’s beauty always mesmerizes travelers.

 

What to see at Chibo

Visitors can explore vast green forests against the stunning backdrop of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Its proximity to Kalimpong makes it ideal for visiting nearby attractions like

  • Deolo Hill,
  • Kalimpong Science Center,
  • Kalimpong Cactus Nursery,
  • Durpin Monastery,
  • Durpin View Point,

The dense forests around Chibbo have many scenic trekking routes, perfect for bird watching. An uphill trek through pine trees leads to a viewpoint with views of the Teesta River winding through the valley. Chibbo is one of the best spots in Kalimpong to witness sunrises and sunsets over the snow-covered Mt. Kanchenjunga. Visitors can also stroll through the village’s paddy fields.

 

How to reach Chibbo

Chibbo is 5-6 km from Kalimpong town. To reach Chibbo from NJP, it will take 2.5 – 3 hours.(70 km) by hired car. You can take a shared jeep to the Kalimpong taxi stand. From the Kalimpong taxi stand, you can get a ride to Chibbo.

 

Accommodation

We are associated with Chibbo Retreat, a good place to stay, if you plan to visit Chibbo. Chibo Retreat has cottage rooms. Staying at Chibbo Retreat will cost 1400/- per person per day. This cost is including all meals i.e.

  • Morning and evening tea,
  • Breakfast,
  • Lunch,
  • Evening snacks (veg)
  • Dinner.

Bonfire and barbeque are also available with extra charges.

Being sceptical at first for not planning a tour completely by myself. But apart from some niggles i truelly enjoyed the whole trip it was well organized. And as a tour planner indra maintain his responsibility very well and i truly embrace the effort he was given.
