Lungchu is a small secluded village, located in the mountains of Neora Valley National Park, Kalimpong. Lungchu is relatively less explored. This offbeat destination is only 16km from Lava and 5km from Kolakham. Being an offbeat destination inside Neora Valley National Park, it is a dreamland for nature lovers and bird photographers. Lungchu is situated at an altitude of 5000ft. You can visit this place any time of the year, except the rainy season, because of terrible road conditions. Lungchu Nature Stay is a good option, among the very few homestays here.

How to reach Lungchu

The nearest railway stations are NJP and New Mal Jn, which are at a distance of 120km and 75km respectively. The road is not good after crossing the Neora Valley Check post at Lava. Lungchu comes after Kolakham, a popular tourist spot among nature lovers.

What to see near Lungchu

Neora Valley National Park: Neora Valley is a rich biological zone, having a diverse eco-system of flora and fauna. It’s a paradise for bird watchers and bird photographers.
Changey Falls: Changey Falls is nearly 2km from Lungchu. Changey Falls is not visible from the road. You need to go downstairs for half an hour to reach Changey Falls. It’s a huge falls surrounded by lush greenery. Multiple viewing decks are created to enjoy the waterfall
Lava Monastery: Kagyu Thekchen Ling Monastery or Lava Monastery is located at Lava, 15 km from Lungchu. You can sit here and feel the calmness and holiness in the air and surroundings.
Rishop: A famous destination is Kalimpong. It is known for magnificent view of Mt. Kanchenjunga.

During booking, 50% of the total tariff as advance. Rest 50% has to be paid 15 days before check-in. Payment for food needs to be paid at the homestay at the time of checkout.

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation amount is calculated on the total amount, not on the advance payment

If the Government or the local bodies impose any lockdown the full booking amount will be refunded.
On or before 45 days – 25% will be deducted as cancellation charges
On or before 15 days – 50% will be deducted as cancellation charges
On or less than 15 days – 100% will be deducted as cancellation charges
