Charkhole village is about 28 km from Kalimpong town and 17 km from Lolegaon. Known for its panoramic views of the majestic Kanchenjunga range, this serene destination is a paradise for nature lovers. The forests of Charkhole are known for a few rare species of butterflies. It is also popular for birdwatchers.

How to reach

The nearest railway station is NJP and the airport is Bagdogra. Cars can be hired from Siliguri to reach Charkhole via Sevoke More, Bagrakote, Chuikhim, and Nimbong. Cars are also available from Kalimpong, Lava, and Lolegaon to travel to Charkhole.

What to do at Charkhole

Bird watching is the main attraction of Charkhole. If the weather is clear, a 180-degree panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga can be seen from here.

Mountain View rooms – 2200 per person per day

Valley View rooms – 2000 per person per day

Non View rooms – 1950 per person per day

Kids upto 12yrs – half rate

Children up to 5 yrs – no charge

The above-mentioned rates are inclusive of all meals

Accommodation and food chargers for drivers are 300/- per day, depending on availability.

    • Aalu paratha sabzi, omelet/boiled egg, tea/coffee or

    • Noodles on an alternative day.
  • Lunch
    • Rice, dal, sabzi, or any seasonal saag, aalu fry, papad, pickle
    • Paneer or mushroom or fish curry or egg curry on an alternative day
  • Dinner
    • Rice/roti, dal, seasonal sabzi, aalu fry, papad, pickle
    • Chicken or fish depending on the availability.

For a veg meal, you have to inform us before your arrival date.

Honestly bolchi, the agency is so much cooperative.​Sobcheye bhalo legeche je ora Sealdah to Sealdah tour manager provide koreche. Throughout the trip, manager amader sathei chilo, so kono tension e korte hoyni. Rooms gulo chilo darun—ekdom beautiful view rooms! Homestay-r staff behavior and food was just mindblowing. Jokhoni amra kono problem face korechi, tour manager always help korar jonno ready chilo. Truly a very careful and care-taking personality. Highly recommended for everyone!
